Trees and landscaping
The City of Gig Harbor’s Critical Areas Ordinance governs tree removal within the City, and requires a process of plan submittal, review and approval prior to tree removal.
One Harbor Point seeks to create an aesthetically pleasing site that promotes scenic vistas, not only for the residents, but also for adjacent and uphill neighbors as well as people traveling along Soundview Drive.
The existing trees and vegetation will be replaced by landscaping sized to the proportion of the buildings with low-growing and small-scale trees, shrubs and groundcover. Native and drought tolerant plants will be used throughout and the plantings will aid in the water quality treatment of storm water runoff.
Proposed landscaping will frame additional water views and provide public access to the harbor for the whole community. Ambient site lighting will create an appealing and safe environment in the evenings.
